Evacuation of students from Ukraine mammoth exercise, considering their future studies, SC told
Venugopal submitted before a bench headed by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana that a mammoth task has been successfully completed by the central government and 22,500 students from the country and other nationalities have been brought back. He further added that the government is examining the issue of their further studies. The Chief Justice took on record that the government was considering the representation made with regard to future studies of the students.
India reports 1,549 fresh Covid cases, 31 deaths
In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,549 new Covid-19 cases and 31 deaths, the Union Health Ministry announced on Monday. The new fatalities increased the nationwide death toll to 5,16,510. Following a continuous downward trend, India's active caseload has further declined to 25,106 on Monday, constituting 0.06 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

BSF probing Chinese drone found on India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal
Officials of the BSF's South Bengal Frontier command said that a farmer from Purbapara, a village adjacent to the BSF border post Kalyani in North 24 Parganas, found a broken China-made drone in a field near the India-Bangladesh border, after which BSF security has been beefed up. The drone was found by the farmer early on March 19 in a field just 300 metres away from the international border, the officials said.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Sunday appointed Sharma to the key post and he will take up his assignment soon. The post in New Delhi was vacant after Sher Bahadur Deuba government recalled as many as 12 ambassadors including from India. Former minister Nilamber Acharya was the Ambassador until the time of recall.
