With11% of global arms import, India is largest buyer of foreign arms, military equipment: SIPRI
India’s import accounts for 11 percent of the global weapons import, as per a report titled “Trends in international arms transfers, 2021” released by the SIPRI. “Between 2012–16 and 2017–21 Indian arms imports decreased by 21 per cent. Despite this, India was the world’s largest importer of major arms in 2017–21 and accounted for 11 per cent of total global arms imports in the period,” the report read.
Karnataka HC dismisses plea seeking permission to wear hijab in classrooms
The court said, "Wearing of hijab was not an essential part of Islam." "The prescription of uniform is constitutional and students can't object to it." India reports 2,568 new Covid cases, 97 deaths
India reported 2,568 new cases in a span of 24 hours, which is a slight increase from 2,503 reported on the previous day, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in its latest update on Tuesday morning. Hijab issue: Karnataka HC to pronounce verdict on Tuesday

“The range of the BrahMos missile has been increased already and with the advantage of being airborne at high altitudes, the missile can travel a longer distance and can hit targets at 800 kms and beyond,” ANI quoted its sources as saying. Currently, Brahmos-A, which is a remodified air-borne version of the supersonic missile, has a range of 500km and can be launched from the India Air Force’s Sukhoi Su-30MKI.
Centre to begin Covid vaccination for 12-14 age group from March 16

The Supreme Court on Monday reiterated its concern regarding fake claims for Covid death compensation, and added it may direct a probe by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in this matter.
