Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the current situation in Ukraine, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Thursday, terming India as a "concerned party" in the conflict. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to Russian President Putin on the prevailing crisis," the Foreign Secretary said in a media briefing here on Thursday night.
India looking for alternative routes to evacuate stranded nationals from Ukraine

The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with all the neighbouring countries surrounding Ukraine to even evacuate Indian citizens. Many citizens who were to fly back to India were left stranded at the airport after closure of Ukrainian airspace following Russia's Vladimir Putin's announcement of a military operation in Ukraine. The embassy has also issued helpline numbers and asked its citizens stranded in Ukraine to reach out to the embassy for evacuation.
Akali leader Majithia sent to judicial custody till March 8

The brother-in-law of SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal, Majithia, who was sent to the Ropar jail during his judicial custody, applied for regular bail and his bail plea will come up for hearing on Friday. A bench comprising Chief Justice N.V. Ramana and Justices A.S. Bopanna and Hima Kohli had directed Majithia to surrender before the trial court after the Punjab Assembly polls on February 20.

India on Tuesday evening received its latest batch of three Dassault’s Rafale fighter jets which will further strengthen the Indian Air Force offensive capabilities. These three fighter jets are fitted with India-specific enhancements (ISEs) which enhance the prowess of the country’s air force to combat aggression from rival countries.
India issues helpline numbers for stranded nationals in Ukraine

In an advisory to all the Indian nationals in Ukraine, the embassy said: "This is to inform all Indian nationals in Ukraine that since the Ukrainian airspace has been closed the schedule for special flights stands cancelled."The embassy further stated that alternative arrangements were being made for evacuation of the Indian nationals. The embassy will convey information as soon as such arrangements are finalized.
Asked to carry cash, hoard ration, not to go out, say Indian students in Ukraine

An Indian student in Ukraine, Aman Gupta (name changed) told IANS: "When we woke up in the morning, we heard the sounds of sirens. The situation is not what it was before. The government has asked us not to go out from home. Some of my friend's have booked flight. They have gone to Kiev and are returning to Ternopil as the attacks took place just three km away form Kiev airport. The university held online classes today."
India warns of 'major crisis' as Russia starts 'special military operations' in Ukraine

T.S. Tirumurti told the Council on Wednesday night that "the situation is in danger of spiraling into a major crisis. We express our deep concern over the developments, which if not handled carefully, may well undermine the peace and security of the region". Calling for "immediate de-escalation", he expressed "regret that the calls of the international community to give time to the recent initiatives undertaken by parties to defuse tensions".
Follow prescribed uniform till final verdict, says Karnataka HC on hijab row

Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, who heads the three-judge bench, reiterated: "We are making it very clear that whether a degree or PU College, if uniform is prescribed, that has to be followed until the verdict." LCA Tejas to be part of multi-nation exercise in UK
