Durga Shankar Mishra to be new Chief Secretary of UP

He will be taking charge on December 31 following superannuation of incumbent Rajendra Kumar Tiwari. According to the notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Mishra, a UP cadre IAS officer of the 1984 batch, has been repatriated to his home cadre, after central deputation.
CRPF plans measures to curb its troopers' suicidal tendencies, to roll out guidelines

Officials of the Central Reserve Police Force said that in view of the recent incidents of fratricide and suicide in the force, several steps have been taken to motivate the personnel and the guidelines will be issued for setting up of 'Chaupals (village-like get-togethers) and 'Sanskarshala' (morals classes) where the jawans can freely speak to their senior officials and explain their problems.
3 JeM terrorists killed in J&K encounter

"Two local terrorists and one Pakistani terrorist affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM killed. Search still going on. One M4 and two AK 47 rifles recovered. A big success," J&K police quoting IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar tweeted. The firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
India may see 'short-lived' Covid third wave soon: Cambridge tracker

The tracker had aptly predicted the devastating second wave in May and had also forecast in August that India would see a slow burn in its Covid infections. "It is likely that India will see a period of explosive growth in daily cases and that the intense growth phase will be relatively short," Paul Kattuman, Professor at the Judge Business School at the varsity was quoted as saying to Bloomberg.
Jharkhand slashes petrol price by ₹25 per litre for two-wheelers of BPL familes

“Jharkhand government has decided to give a concession of ₹25 per litre petrol to motorcycles and scooter riders,” Hemant Soren said. It's a populist decision as it comes on the day, when the Soren government completes 2 years in office. His Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government won elections in 2019. However, the decision is made for the Below poverty line families.  Amount of Rs. 25  will be transferred into the bank account of BPL family member for every litre petrol filled into their two wheeler. The family can avail this facility for upto 10 litres of fuel every month.

The ATS had filed a 5 page statement of the witness, in 2009, to which the Witness told the court that he only knows that a statement is recorded in his name by ATS but in reality he never gave any such statement. The ATS statement mentioned that the witness was a trustee of the Abhinav Bharat trust, founded in 2006 along with Lt. Colonel Prasad Purohit and Ajay Rahirkar, who are among the 7 accused in the case. According to the ATS and NIA the trust was used in the conspiracy for the Malegaon blast.

PM to release Rs 20K cr to more than 10 cr beneficiaries under PM-KISAN

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal 4-monthly instalments of Rs 2000 each. The fund is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Samman Rashi of over Rs 1.6 lakh crore has been transferred to farmer families so far.
No 'amber' alert in Delhi for now, says DDMA

This decision was taken after Lt Governor Anil Baijal chaired a virtual review meeting of the DDMA also attended by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Delhi government on Tuesday declared a yellow or Level 1 alert, which as per the Graded Action Response Plan (GRAP) kicks in if the Covid-19 positivity rate is over 0.5 per cent for two consecutive days.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) advised the regulatory board to grant the EUA considering the emergency situation in the country and unmet medical need in Covid-19, according to the Health Ministry. The regulatory board permitted the manufacturing and marketing of 200 mg capsules of molnupiravir with a recommended dose of 800 mg twice daily for 5 days, the ministry added.
