India stops import of 2,851 components used in defence platforms

The defence ministry on Wednesday notified a positive indigenisation list of sub-systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies and components to achieve self-reliance in defence and minimise imports by Defence Public Sector Units. The positive indigenisation list has been notified by the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, as part of the efforts to achieve self-reliance in defence manufacturing and minimise imports, the ministry said.

India's Omicron tally climbs to 781, Delhi tops with 238 cases

The Union health ministry on Wednesday morning said that the Omicron infection has so far spread into 21 states and union territories. Out of the 238 Omicron cases detected in Delhi, 57 of them have been discharged. According to the Ministry data, Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, West Bengal have reported Omicron cases in two-digit figures.

Covid-19 Precautionary Dose:  Senior citizens won't require  doctor’s certificate for third jab

The Centre on Tuesday said that senior citizens with comorbidities will not need a doctor’s certificate to be eligible for the third dose of the Covid vaccine. In addition to this, they will also not be required to upload or provide a medical certificate regarding their specified co-morbidities. However, people above 60 years of age must consult their doctors before taking the jab.
PM Modi to inaugurate, lay foundation stones of 23 projects in Uttrakhand

Among the 23 projects, 17 projects worth over Rs 14,100 crore cover a wide array of sectors/areas across the state including irrigation, road, housing, health infrastructure, industry, sanitation, drinking water supply among others. The Prime Minister will inaugurate six projects, including multiple road widening projects, a hydropower project in Pithoragarh and projects to improve sewerage network in Nainital.
