Doctors' strike: Why are resident doctors on the streets?

That summed up the mood of the doctors protesting since November 27 but became the talking point across India only when they took to the streets. The doctors, under the banner of the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), have been staging protests across India and were soon joined by the FAIMA.
Hailstorms in central India, wet spell for northwest to continue

Wet spell for several states of northwest India will continue for next two days. Narkhed, Akola, Murtijapur, Aurangabad, Vaijapur, Paithan, Jalna, Srirampur, Jalgaon are some of the Maharashtra areas that witnessed heavy hailstorm almost spreading a sheet of white. Lighting and thunderstorm activities were witnessed in several districts of Madhya Pradesh too.
Congress turns 137 with less than 90 MPs in Parliament

As per the Lok Sabha website, out of the 542 members in the Lower House, Congress has only 53 MPs as against BJP's 301. In the Rajya Sabha, the Congress has 34 MPs besides having the leader of opposition status, though the party is completely outnumbered by BJP's 97 members in the Upper House.
Piyush Jain sent raw materials to Dubai in exchange of gold bars, had links in Singapore

"On Monday, 23 kg gold and 600 kg sandalwood oil having a market value of about Rs 6 crore were seized from Jain's office and factory premises, which were hidden in an underground storage. Since the gold recovered has foreign markings, the DRI has been roped in to conduct the necessary investigations," said a GST official. Sources privy to the investigation suspect that this was being done to avoid taxes and Customs duty.
Delhi reports 496 new Covid cases, infection rate at 0.89%

The new cases and fatality took the infection tally to 14,44,179, and the death toll to 25,107, while the Covid infection rate rose to 0.89 per cent - the highest since May 31 when it was 0.99 per cent. The number of active Covid cases have also climbed to 1,612, the highest in the last 6 months. According to the Health Department, Delhi had recorded the highest (1,680) active Covid cases on June 25.

Multani was reportedly also planning to target locations in Delhi and Mumbai. 45-year-old Multani is also a close associate of SFJ founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, as per the report. There are also several FIRs against Multani in Ferozpur, Amritsar, and Taran Taran districts of Punjab.

The national capital on Monday registered 331 new Covid-19 cases, the highest single-day rise recorded since June 9.
‘Girls should know how to draw line’: JNU to hold counseling sessions for students on sexual harrassment

These sessions, to be held by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the University,  will aim to create awareness among female students on how they can avoid sexual  harassment by drawing a tangible line between them and their male friends. The students, during these sessions,  will also learn about what consists of sexual harassment and the ‘Dos and Don’ts’ that they need to follow. “Girls (are) supposed to know how to draw a tangible line (between them and their male friends) to avoid any such harassments (sic)”, said an announcement on the website of Jawaharlal Nehru University.

The entire length of Kanpur Metro Rail project is of 32 km out of which 9 km long "priority stretch" has been completed so far. Following the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi, accompanied by UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, took a ride from the IIT metro station to Geeta Nagar. In poll bound Uttar Pradesh, the inauguration becomes significant as it is one of the key developmental projects of the BJP government in the state.
