Gang selling newborn babies busted in Delhi; 2 infants rescued, 6 women held
The six women -- identified as Priya Jain, Priya, Kajal, Rekha, Shivani and Premvati -- used to procure newborn babies from the parents belonging to the poor strata of the society by offering them money, and further sold the babies to the needy for hefty sums. The cops have also identified the kingpin of the gang named Priyanka, who is yet to be nabbed.
Terrorist killed in Anantnag encounter identified
"Neutralised terrorist identified as Faheem Bhat of Kadipora Anantnag. He had recently joined the ISJK terror outfit and was involved in killing of ASI Mohd Ashraf, who was posted at PS Bijbehara," the police said. The firefight took place on Saturday after a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the Srigufwara area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
At 249, Delhi reports highest single-day Covid tally since June 13
Delhi on Saturday reported 249 fresh Covid-19 cases, the highest since June 13, with a positivity rate of 4.46 per cent, taking its overall tally to 14,43,062, data issued by the health department showed.
. According to the official data, this rise is the highest since June 13 when the national capital had reported 255 cases with a positivity rate of 0.35 per cent.

Covaxin gets DCGI nod for emergency use for children aged 12-18
The vaccine manufacturer had submitted data from clinical trials in the 12-18 years age group for COVAXIN (BBV152) to Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). Bharat Biotech had said earlier that the data was reviewed by the CDSCO and Subject Experts Committee (SEC) and has provided their positive recommendations. This makes Covaxin the second vaccine cleared for use for children in India.
Flight operations normal despite low visibility: Delhi airport
"Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal," the Delhi airport said in a passenger advisory. Low Visibility Procedures are the actions to ensure the safe operation of aircraft during periods of reduced visibility or low cloud base. The airport authorities further requested all passengers to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.
Rs 1.54 cr collected as fine for flouting Covid norms in Delhi
In addition to the fine, 163 FIRs have been registered too with 1,245 violations being recorded in East Delhi and 1,446 in North, while 7,778 were found flouting Covid-19 guidelines by not wearing masks, not following physical distance and crowding an area. According to the officials, the total amount of fine imposed on Wednesday and Thursday was one of the highest in recent weeks.

The domains covered in the report are health outcomes, governance and information, and key inputs and processes, the Aayog said in a statement. The think tank of India will release the fourth edition of "The Healthy States, Progressive India" ranking States performance on December 27.

These projects include dedication of 111 MW Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Electric Project (HEP) constructed with an outlay of Rs 2,081.60 crore on the Pabbar river in Shimla.
