4 terrorists killed in 2 separate encounters in Kashmir in 12 hrs

Police and security forces neutralized two terrorists in an anti-terrorist operation in Tral area of Awantipora while two terrorists were also killed in an encounter by Police and security forces in Shopian, taking the toll to four in the last 12 hours. "Based on specific information generated by Police regarding presence of terrorists in village Hardumir, Tral area of Awantipora, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Awantipora Police and Army,".

The prime minister made these remarks while addressing the Gurpurab celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib in Gujarat's Kutch via video conferencing. PM Modi said that the countrymen should remain united to achieve the dreams for which the Sikh gurus sacrificed their lives. Omicron Update: India records 415 new cases, 115 recoveries

India reported 122 new cases of the new Covid19 variant in last 24 hours, according to the goverment data. Maharashtra accounts for the highest number of Omicron infections with 108 cases. Maharashtra is followed by Delhi with 79, Gujarat with 43 cases, Telangana with 38,  Kerala has a total of 37 Omicron cases and Tamil Nadu has reported 34 cases. Interestingly, North east states of India remain untouched from the  new variant.
Ludhiana Court Blast: Man killed was sacked cop with drug links

The man killed in the blast at the Ludhiana court complex was identified as a former Punjab Police Head Constable who was dismissed from service due to his involvement in illegal practices like drug smuggling, according to media reports. The man was identified based on a tattoo and a mobile phone. Earlier, the Punjab Police had also suspected the victim of the blast to be the bomber.

"Two unidentified terrorists killed. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered," the police said. Earlier in the day, a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
Delhi Air Pollution: Slight improvement in air quality, AQI inches closer to 'very poor' from 'severe' category

The AQI is expected to remain under the 'very poor' category over the weekend and the national capital is likely to observe improved air quality, as per the predictions of the air quality and weather bulletin. The Air Quality Index (AQI) had hit the 400 or 'severe' mark on Friday. The AQI improved from 'severe' to 'very poor' category on Saturday morning as it stood at 398.
Haryana imposes night curfew from Dec 25

The order came after a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here. The curfew will be imposed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily. The state also imposed a limit on gatherings. Both indoor and open gatherings could have only up to 50 per cent of their capacity with a limit of 200 people for indoor gatherings and 300 people for outdoor gatherings.
