Ladakh Standoff: India, China may create buffer zone at PP-17A near Gogra post

The phased disengagement at PP-17A is likely to begin in next few days after the plan is ratified by the governments of the two countries, the Times of India reported quoting its sources. The two sides agreed on the disengagement plan during the 12th round of corps commander-level talks held on last Saturday. However, there is no immediate solution in sight to other friction points including PP-15.

Oppn issues statement demanding discussion on Pegasus snooping issue

The final decision on withdrawal of troops from Patrolling Point (PP) 17A in Gogra would be taken up by the top officials. Both the countries are also evaluating the interim arrangements suggested during the 12 rounds of Corp Commander-level meeting on July 31. On July 31, India and China military delegates deliberated for almost nine hours to resolve border crisis at Moldo in the Ladakh region.
