CVC recommends disciplinary action against ex-CBI boss Alok Verma: Sources
A DoPT source related to the development told IANS: "A file recommending disciplinary action against Verma has been received from Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and has been sent to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for further action." The Union Home Ministry (MHA) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has asked the UPSC to take action against Verma, who was at the epicentre of a controversy in 2018.
CJI recuses from hearing Krishna River dispute between AP, Telangana
On Monday, Justice Ramana had indicated that he would not hear the plea by the AP government alleging that the Telangana government has deprived it of its legitimate share of water for drinking and irrigation purposes and termed it "unconstitutional and illegal". Justice Ramana had said: "I don't want to hear this matter legally. I belong to both the states. If the matter can be settled in mediation, please do that".
INS Vikrant sails out from Kochi for 4-day training
The aircraft carrier has been constructed by the Cochin Shipyard Limited for the Indian Navy, On board includes close to 1,500 officials, including officers and sailors. The highlight of this warship is that it is the first aircraft carrier to be built in the country. Work on the ship's design began in 1999, and the keel was laid in February 2009. The carrier was floated out of its dry dock on December 29, 2011.

He explained that 8 Linagayats, 7 Vokkaligas, 7 OBCs, 3 Dalits, 1 Scheduled Caste, 1 Reddy will be in the cabinet and one berth is given to women. He further stated that, former chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa's son B.Y. Vijayendra's name is not on the list.

India sees jump in Covid infections, logs 42,625 cases in a day
With new 562 deaths, India's death toll now stands at 4,25,757. India registered over 10,000 more infections than the previous day, as a total of 30,548 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday.With 5,395 new active cases, India's active Covid infection tally has climbed to 4,10,353 on Wednesday. The active cases constitute 1.29 per cent of the total caseload of India.
Indian Air Force chief in Israel to enhance military ties
In Israel, Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria and his counterpart Major General Amikam Norkin, Commander Israel Air Force, will discuss the military ties and cooperation between two countries. Indian Air Force in a statement said, "As strategic partners, India and Israel enjoy strong, multi-dimensional ties, an important pillar of which is defence cooperation and military level exchanges".

Pilot, co-pilot of crashed helicopter in J&K still missing
Although there been no official defence statement on this crash, sources had said on Tuesday that both the pilot and the co-pilot 'were safe'.Police sources in Kathua, who were part of the rescue operation after the helicopter crashed in Basohli area of the district, where the Ranjit Sagar Dam is situated, said the two are still missing. The helicopter had taken off from Pathankot in Punjab.
India's composite Global Hunger Index score improves in 2020
"Thus, the country has shown consistent improvement over the years in terms of the GHI brought out by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe," Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti told the Lok Sabha in a written reply. The Centre accords high priority to the issue of hunger and has been providing food grains at highly subsidised prices to the targeted population.
