Defamatory Content: HC directs activist Saket Gokhale to delete tweets against minister Puri's wife
Justice C. Hari Shankar made it clear if Gokhale, fails to delete the tweets, then Twitter is directed to take down those URLs. The court has also barred him from posting any defamatory content against Puri and her husband on any platform. Puri had filed the suit against Gokhale. She moved the high court through law firm Karanjawala & Co. claiming that the tweets were defamatory, malicious and based on false information.

Will create imbalance: VHP objects to UP's proposed 1-child policy
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has written a letter to the Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission, seeking removal of the one-child norm from the draft of its Population Control Bill. In a two-page letter, the VHP said that it agreed with the objects of the draft Bill but certain sections need to be reconsidered as they go 'beyond the said objectives'.
Himachal flash floods: 7 rescued by NDRF, 9 still missing
Rescuers on Tuesday said seven villagers were rescued from Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district where a massive mudslide triggered by flash floods hit a remote village, damaging several houses and shops and leaving one dead. Nine people are still missing. The seven people were rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) after an eight-hour operation that started late Monday evening, officials told IANS over phone from the spot.
After several wrong predictions, monsoon arrives in Delhi-NCR
The long delayed monsoon finally arrived early on Tuesday giving much needed respite to the citizens in Delhi-NCR. Soft launch of Sputnik V not put on hold: Dr Reddy's
"Neither the ongoing soft commercial launch nor work towards its ramp-up in India have been put on hold," the Hyderabad-based company said in a statement. Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Monday clarified that the soft launch of Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V has not been put on hold. It said it will strengthen the commercial roll-out of Sputnik V in the coming weeks
New population control policy won't help: Nitish
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said the new population control policy recently implemented by the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, will not work. He said that this law would not help to control the population of any state or country. "Some educated people may be exceptions and give birth to several children," Kumar said, without taking the name of his old rival Lalu Prasad Yadav who has 9 children.
Rath Yatra 2021: Lord Jagannath reaches Gundicha
All rituals, starting from Pahandi Bije of the three deities, to pulling of chariots, of the annual Rath Yatra were completed much before the scheduled time and in a very spiritual atmosphere. In view of Covid-19 pandemic, the festival was conducted without any participation of devotees. Only 'Sevayats' (servitors) pulled all three holy chariots. chariots of Lord Jagannath and his siblings reached Gundicha temple.
Review process begins for WHO listing of Covaxin: Bharat Biotech
Bharat Biotech Chairman and Managing Director Krishna Ella said all documents required for EUL of Covaxin have been submitted to WHO as of July 9. "The review process has now commenced with the expectation that we will receive EUL from WHO at the earliest," he said. The Hyderabad-based company had said in May that that application for EUL was submitted to WHO-Geneva and regulatory approvals are expected by July-September 2021.
