CBI files cases against Post, NTPC officials; searches several areas
A CBI spokesperson said that the agency registered a case against Rashid Khan, the then officiating Postal Assistant in Ujjain, on a complaint from Senior Superintendent of Post Offices in Ujjain. He said that in the complaint it was alleged that during the period 2019 to 2020, Khan had forged withdrawal vouchers of six account holders of Mahidpur Sub Post Office and thereby fraudulently withdrawn the amount of Rs 13.41 lakh from their accounts, thereby causing a loss to the Post Office.

Indian, US forces joint drill witnesses high-tempo naval ops
The joint drill ended on Thursday, in which the Indian Navy, along with the Indian Air Force, participated with the US Navy Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group. The exercise has been a key enabler in building interoperability and strengthening the defence coordination between the two nations and witnessed high tempo-naval operations at sea.
Twitter blocks IT Min's a/c: Ravi Shankar says 'gross violation'
Although, he was subsequently allowed to access the account, taking to India-made micro-blogging platform Koo, the minister called the action by the US-headquartered Twitter as "a gross violation of the IT guidelines". "Twitter's actions were in gross violation of Rule 4(8) of the Information Technology Rules 2021 where they failed to provide me any prior notice before denying me access to my own account," he said.

The top court stayed the June 9 High Court order, which refused to take reply-affidavits of Banerjee and Ghatak on the CBI's transfer plea in the case. A bench comprising Justices Vineet Saran and Dinesh Maheshwari asked the High Court to decide their plea in connection with filing of affidavits, with regard to their alleged role on the day of arrest of four TMC leaders by the CBI on May 17 in the case.

The gunbattle between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of militants.
SC panel: Delhi exaggerated O2 demand by 4X at Covid2.0 peak
The panel said the Arvind Kejriwal government exaggerated its demand of medical oxygen four times more than required, and if it were to continue then it could have created a crisis for other states. A report submitted by the oxygen audit sub-group said: "There is a gross discrepancy (about 4 times) in that the actual oxygen consumption (1,140MT) was about 4 times higher than the versus calculated consumption formula for bed capacity."

ED registers money laundering case to probe UP conversion racket
A senior ED official here said that the financial probe agency has registered a case on the basis of the FIR registered by the ATS into the alleged conversion racket with its links from foreign countries. The official said that the agency has also named Delhi residents -- Mufti Qazi Jahangir Qasmi and Mohammad Umar Gautam -- as accused in the case, who were arrested by the ATS.
BJP accuses AAP govt of creating panic for oxygen crunch; Sisodia terms it fake report
Sisodia's remarks came after the BJP alleged that the oxygen audit committee set up by the Supreme Court during the peak of the second Covid wave last month had noted gross discrepancy in actual consumption claims. The BJP further alleged that the Delhi government sought four times more oxygen than what was its actual requirement.
