Covaxin trials on children likely from next month
The vaccine maker has already received permission to carry out trials on children aged 2-18 years. Bharat Biotech's Business Development & International Advocacy Head, Dr Raches Ella, exuded confidence that vaccine for kids may get the license in the third quarter of this year. Ella also said Bharat Biotech will be ramping up manufacturing capacity of Covaxin to 700 million doses by the end of this year.

Barge toll climbs to 70, divers continue search for missing persons
With this, the toll has shot up to 70 and around six are still reported missing, while 188 have been rescued safely so far. The specialised vessel, INS Makar, which located the wreckage of the Barge Papaa-305 late on Saturday is now continuing to search for the sunken anchor-handling tugboat 'Varaprada'.
Maharashtra Covid deaths touch new peak, toll crosses 88K
Compared with 682 deaths on Saturday, the state fatalities shot up to 1,320, including 726 old deaths, to race past the previous peak of 1,263 (May 21) and take the toll to 88,620. The number of fresh cases increased slightly from 26,133 on Saturday to 26,672, with the tally rising to 55,79,897 now.

The victim was reportedly out to buy medicines amid COVID 19 lockdown when the DM stopped him and asked why he was violating lockdown. Shortly after, the DM can be seen in the video as walking away from him only to get angry and calling the boy back. Sharma then takes the phone of the man and throws it on the ground and goes on to slap the boy after fluttering out some words.
Delhi man forced to stay in old age home after son dies of Covid
Manoj Sharma, who lives in Toronto, Canada, lost his brother due to a heart attack. His 88-year-old father is now alone in Delhi and now has been shifted to an old age home as noone left to look after him. Though some of his family members live in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), they could not come and meet him due to the fear of contracting Covid-19.
Uttar Pradesh minister's brother appointed prof on EWS quota
Arun Dwiwedi has been appointed as assistant professor in the psychology department from the (EWS) economically weaker section quota. According to reports, there were two posts of assistant professor for the subject of Psychology. While Dr Harendra Sharma has been appointed from the OBC quota, Dr Arun Kumar Dwiwedi has been appointed in EWS (Economically Weaker General Candidate) category.
