Delhi under lockdown till May 31
Delhi has been under a lockdown since April 20 and during this period daily Covid cases were over 25,000 and the average positivity rate was above 30 per cent. Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said the second wave of the pandemic has been very dangerous and the Delhi government had imposed the after consultations with people from various sections.
Future government should remove Plaque on Central Vista: Kapil Sibal
Kapil Sibal in a statement on Sunday said, "The government which comes to power in future must remove the plaque and instead write that this project was built despite the fact that money was needed to save people's lives during the pandemic. It is an act of monumental insensitivity not to voluntarily stop the project."
Cyclone Yaas: PM Modi directs officers to ensure timely evacuation
While chairing a high-level meeting to review the preparedness of states and Central ministries and agencies concerned to deal with the situation arising out of cyclone Yaas, the Prime Minister spoke about the need to ensure that time duration of outages of power supply and communication network are minimum and are restored swiftly.
Chhattisgarh police issues notice to Patra to join probe on toolkit issue
The notice has been issued to former chief minister Raman Singh and Patra on a complaint registered in Raipur for allegedly spreading fake news related to the toolkit issue. The complaint was filed by Akash Sharma, the Chhattisgarh NSUI Chief under the IPC. Head of Congress research wing Rajeev Gowda and Rohan Gupta are made co-complainant after they approached Chhattisgarh Police.

White Fungus has generally been seen in immuno-compromised people like those on chemotherapy or undergoing bone marrow transplant. Delhi government extends lockdown till May 31
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said: "The daily cases have reduced to 1,600 and positivity rate has also declined to 2.5 per cent, but the war against the Covid pandemic is still on. Daily cases are still above the 1,000 marks in the city and therefore the Delhi government has decided to extend the existing lockdown for one more week. It means Delhi would remain under lockdown till next Monday (May 31).
Bengal government reviews preparedness for cyclone Yaas, issues alert
"Fishermen have been alerted to immediately return. 24x7 control rooms have been set up (Ph No - 1070 & 033-22143526). All agencies have been asked to spring into action. Relief materials have been dispatched & Quick Response Teams are mobilised. I request all to stay alert," the chief minister said.
India reports 2.4L Covid cases, 3,741 deaths in 24 hrs
According to the Health Ministry, a total of 3,55,102 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, with 2,34,25,467 being cured of Covid till date. The Health Ministry said that a total of 19,50,04,184 people have been vaccinated so far in the country, including 16,04,542 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.
YC Modi, Asthana, Behura in race for top CBI post
The CBI got an acting Director in the form of Praveen Sinha after the term of R.K. Shukla ended on February 3. Several officers of the 1985 and 1986 batch are reportedly in the race for the top post, including Y.C. Modi, who is currently the chief of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and 1985 batch IPS officer Hitesh Chandra Awasthi.
Divers find sunken barge, Arabian Sea tragedy toll climbs to 66
The death toll in the Arabian Sea tragedy caused by Cyclone Tauktae earlier this week has shot up to 66, while around 10 persons are still reported missing. A total of 188 persons have been rescued safely so far. The sunken Barge Papaa-305 was located resting on the seabed.
