Raj bypolls: Factionalism, high command's neglect led to BJP's rout

Bharatiya Janata Party sources confirmed to IANS that the party has been dented by the many factions with each group wanting to throttle the other which killed the BJP's prospects in the by-polls held in Dhariyavad and Vallabhnagar. They confirmed that the first challenge emerged when many of the star campaigners including former CM Vasundhara Raje, Om Mathur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat among others kept themselves at a distance from the campaigning.

Adityanath, who is here to attend the Deepotsava programme, said: "We have made the impossible possible with the beginning of construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The world said it was impossible. But we made it possible." He termed it as the victory of the belief of the Indian population and power of democracy. Adityanath said: "When Lord Ram incarnated in Ayodhya, then my 'dadguru' (guru's guru) was heading the movement. When the movement for construction of Ram temple began, my guru was president of the Ramjanmabhoomi Yagya Samiti. I am also getting the privilege to actively participate in the programme."
President Kovind extends Deepawali greetings to people

"Deepawali festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. This festival is largely celebrated by people following different beliefs across various sections of our society. The auspicious occasion of Deepawali gives a message of mutual affection, fraternity and brotherhood. Bharat Biotech's Covaxin gets WHO's nod

The global health group's Technical Advisory Group (TAG) issued the final decision. The WHO, in a tweet, said: "WHO has granted emergency use listing (EUL) to Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech, adding to a growing portfolio of vaccines validated by WHO for the prevention of Covid 19". The source said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pushed for Covaxin approval at G20 meet with WHO Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Maa Annapurna idol returned by Canada varsity to be installed in Varanasi

"100 years ago, an idol of Maa Annapurna went missing from Kashi and ended up at a university in Canada. The government of India has received that idol from the university and it is now being given to the state government. It will be placed in Kashi Vishwanath temple on November 15 amid chanting of Vedic hymns," the chief minister announced at a press conference. The idol will be installed in Varanasi.
Anil Deshmukh case: Param Bir Singh has 'no more evidence'

The revelations came two days after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) - based on a CBI FIR arising out of Singh's allegations - questioned and later arrested Deshmukh, who is now in the agency's custody till November 6. The commission sources reveal that, barring his original March letter to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Singh has apparently declined to share any more evidence pertaining to the allegations he had levelled against the then Home Minister Deshmukh, who quit in April.
CDSCO approves extension of Covaxin's shelf life to 12 months

The Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech announced on Wednesday that the CDSCO approved the extension of shelf life of the vaccine up to 12 months, from the date of manufacture. "This approval of shelf life extension is based on the availability of additional stability data, which was submitted to the CDSCO. The shelf life extension has been communicated to our stakeholders," the vaccine maker said. It was initially given permission for sale and distribution of Covaxin with a shelf life of six months when stored at two to eight degrees Celsius.

A total of 40 low vaccination coverage districts have been identified across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tamil Nadu. The Chief Ministers of these states were also present at the meeting.
Akhilesh to ally with Shivpal, give him full respect

Addressing reporters here, Akhilesh Yadav said that SP would also enter into alliances with smaller parties. Asked whether he would give respect to his uncle, Akhilesh Yadav said that Shivpal Yadav would get full respect in the alliance. Akhilesh Yadav's statement is expected to put an end of five years of strife between him and his uncle.
Pakistan disallowing airspace to Srinagar-Sharjah flights unfortunate: Omar

Taking to Twitter, he said: "Very unfortunate. Pakistan did the same thing with the Air India Express flight from Srinagar to Dubai in 2009-2010. I had hoped that @GoFirstairways being permitted to overfly Pak airspace was indicative of a thaw in relations but alas that wasn't to be." On October 23, the inaugural Srinagar-Sharjah flight, operated by Go First, was flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah from the Sheikh-ul-Alam International Airport.
